Puppha Pūjā
Vaṇṇa–gandha–guṇopetaṃ
etaṃ kusuma–santatiṃ
Pūjayāmi munindassa
siripāda–saroruhe.
Pūjemi buddhaṃ–kusumenanena
puññena–metena ca hotu mokkhaṃ
Pupphaṃ milāyāti yathā idaṃ me
kāyo tathā yāti vināsa–bhāvaṃ.
Puppha Pūjā
Flower Offering
Vaṇṇa–gandha–guṇopetaṃ
With these flowers, as long as they last,
etaṃ kusuma–santatiṃ
Colorful, fragrant and excellent,
Pūjayāmi munindassa
The Sacred Feet on the lotus
siripāda–saroruhe.
Of the Lord of sages, I revere.
Pūjemi buddhaṃ–kusumenanena
The Buddha I revere with varied flowers
puññena–metena ca hotu mokkhaṃ
By this, my merit, may there be Release.
Pupphaṃ milāyāti yathā idaṃ me
Even as this flower fades away
kāyo tathā yāti vināsa–bhāvaṃ.
So will my body be destroyed.
